Storm water plaque project in conjunction with Tawa Rotary
The trust with assistance from Wellington City Council, the Tawa Rotray and schools in Tawa are placing plaques on stormwater vents to remind people that the water that goes into the stormwater system flows into the Porirua harbour via the local stream catchments.
Meet at Tawa School at 8:30am on Saturday 23 February for a briefing and assembly into (hopefully) 9 groups.
The project is being split into 9 groups (each with approx. 23 plaques), with the aim of having 1 Rotarian or Trust board member with 1 or 2 of your students. It would be great if their parents want to participate alongside Rotary. The time taken to affix each one is about 5 minutes plus walking time between each sump, so I anticipate that we will be all finished by 11am.
The locations are as follows:
Group 1 – Linden Shops
Group 2 – Linden School
Group 3 – Greenacres School
Group 4 – Duncan Street
Group 5 – Hampton Hill School
Group 6 – Tawa School
Group 7 – Main road from Squash court to Victory Cres
Group 8 – Redwood School
Group 9 – The Drive
