The Annual clean up of the intertidal zone for the Porirua Stream mouth is taking place Saturday 22 November from 4.15pm.
This clean up is being run by Keep Porirua Beautiful inconjunction with the Porirua Harbour Trust and is a clean up of items from the centre of the stream mouth and the delta. The removal of tyres, road cones and other large debris is a crucial part of keeping the harbour free from rubbish and the results go toward one of the Annual Scorecard measures for the harbour.
If you want to assist please turn up with good robust boots or gumboots, warm clothing and be ready to walk out to the middle of the delta for the clean up. the meeting place is just north of Pirates Cove on Wineera Drive – look for the Keep Porirua Beautiful signage.
The event will be from 4.15 – 5.30pm and will postponed if weather is not suitable.
